How To Challenge Negative Thoughts

Negative thoughts can be incredibly damaging and destructive, leading to low selfesteem, anxiety, and depression. If you find yourself struggling with negative thoughts, there are a few things you can do to challenge them.

First, it’s important to identify the thoughts that are causing you the most harm. Once you know what they are, you can start to challenge them. One way to do this is to ask yourself whether the thought is realistic. Are you really going to die if you make a mistake? Is it really the end of the world if someone doesn’t like you?

Another way to challenge negative thoughts is to ask yourself how likely it is that the thought will come true. Will you really never be happy again if you don’t get that job? Is it really true that you’re a terrible person?

Finally, try to come up with a more positive thought to replace the negative one. If you’re having trouble doing this, you can find help from a therapist or counselor. With time and practice, you’ll be able to challenge your negative thoughts and start to feel better about yourself.
